Taidou Atlas
Readiness Check
Find out what diligence would find, while it is still cheap to fix.
A fixed-scope, two-week read on what would fail a real diligence process today — ranked by how likely it is to be found and what it would cost you. No equity, no success fee, no obligation to do anything afterwards.
What it is
The process a buyer would run, run early, by someone on your side.
Diligence is not a test of how good the company is. It is a test of whether the record supports what the company says about itself — and those are very different things. Nearly every finding we raise is something the founder already half knew and had not written down.
Run at the right moment this costs a few weeks. Run at the wrong moment it costs the price, or the round. The Readiness Check exists so the finding happens in a room where nobody is deciding whether to wire you money.
It is deliberately fixed-scope and deliberately short. You get a ranked list, a sequence and a recommendation — including, sometimes, the recommendation not to raise yet.
How it runs
Two weeks, four moves.
Documents in
You send what you already have — model, deck, cap table, contracts, whatever the data room currently holds. We do not ask you to prepare anything first; what is missing is itself a finding.
The read
We run the process a buyer would run, in the order a buyer would run it. Where something cannot be reconciled we say so rather than assuming the charitable explanation.
The ranking
Every finding rated on two axes: how likely someone external is to find it, and what it costs you when they do. That ranking is the deliverable — a flat list helps nobody.
The conversation
Ninety minutes, with the person who did the work, going through the list and the sequence. You leave with a plan you could execute without us.
What you get
Three documents and a decision.
The findings list
Every item, rated on likelihood of discovery and consequence, written in language a founder can act on rather than a framework nobody asked for.
Ranked, with owners
The sequence
What to fix first, what can wait, and what is not worth fixing at all. Ordered by what gets tested first, not by what closes fastest.
With dates
The read
A one-page statement of whether we would advise raising now, later, or not on this basis — and what would have to change.
Plain language
The decision
Yours. There is no obligation to do the remediation with us, and a meaningful share of companies take the list and run it themselves.
No lock-in
Try the short version
Five questions, and a rough read.
This is a sample of the intake, not the Check itself. It takes about a minute and nothing is stored — but it will tell you roughly which stage you would enter at.
Where is the company right now?
Pick the closest. Stage drives everything downstream, and it is the question founders most often answer optimistically.
Nothing is stored. This is a sample of the real intake.
Common questions
Before you book it.
A fixed fee, quoted before anything starts, and it does not change based on what we find. We do not take equity, carry or any percentage of a raise.
No, and a meaningful share of companies do not. The list is written so your own team or your existing providers can work from it.
No. Taidou is not a licensed CPA firm and this is not an audit, a review or any attest engagement. It is advisory work that makes the real thing go better.
Only if you decide to show them. Nothing about a company in the Exchange leaves it without the founder’s explicit sign-off.
Then that is the answer, and you get it in week two rather than month six. Atlas has no fund and takes no placement fee, which is exactly what makes that answer possible.
Rarely too early. The cheapest version of this work is the one run before there is anything to unwind.
